Anyone who understands the music business in Nigeria know that its the management that represents the artist that is actually in control of his career. It would be recalled that a few years back, the 'Baba Nla' crooner aka Wizkid was involved in a contract dispute with his then record label Empire Mates Entertainment. At the end of the dispute, Wizkid floated his own Starboy Entertainmet but was still managed by EME. It wasn't until the release of his sophomore album 'Ayo' that he completely cut ties with the EME family. What I'm saying in essence is as long as YBNL still runs his business for him, he isn't an independent artist. Except YBNL management is working for free! Shoro niyen?
