Sunderland was faced with the risk of getting relegated if they had lost the match but they were not ready to take defeat. After getting behind Chelsea, they still kept trying and eventually, they emerged as winners.
The victory put them above Newcastle.Newcastle are now facing the risk of getting relegated alongside Norwich. Diego Coaster almost smashed their dreams when he scored a lovely goal. But on the 67th minute, Chelsea's skipper JOHN TERRY deflected a low shot into the goal. Another clumsy clearance from John Mikel Obi finally gave them the goal that secured their victory.

"We kept believing and showed that we are Sunderland," said Borini.
"(The crowd were) unbelievable and we need that again on Wednesday because that made the difference when we went down 2-1 and it kept us going.
"We have to do it this week. We have the focus, we don't have negative thoughts of relegation, we only have positive thoughts and we've seen it today."
